Karak & King’s Highway
The King’s Highway runs south along the plateau above the Dead Sea, past Karak Castle, the Roman fortress of El-Lejjun and the Nabataean temples of Dhat Ras and Khirbet et-Tannur, on to Tafilah and Sela. To the east, the Ottoman forts of Qatrana and Al-Hasa stand on the Desert Highway.
