Alex Standing above the Church of Bishop Isaiah, this 360-degree panorama looks down into one of Jerash’s most evocative Byzantine interiors. The broad mosaic pavement spreads across the foreground, its geometric borders and patterned fields still defining the former nave and aisles, while a handful of standing columns rise from the church floor and trace the rhythm of the original basilica. Low stone walls outline the sanctuary and side spaces, and wooden walkways allow visitors to view the fragile mosaics without stepping on them. Turning outward, the church opens onto the northern ruins of ancient Gerasa: the hill of the archaeological park on one side and the dense modern city of Jerash across the valley on the other. The view makes the church’s layered setting especially clear—sixth-century worship, Roman stone reused in its structure and a living Jordanian city beyond.
