Alone on the steppe near Qatrana, Qasr Bshir is the best-preserved Roman fort in the Jordanian desert, completed between AD 293 and 305 according to the Latin inscription still over its gate. This album approaches across the plain, then shows the corner towers, the main gate and its inscription, the courtyard with its stables and vaults, and the cisterns.
