On the south bank of Wadi al-Hasa beside the Desert Highway, Qal’at Al-Hasa is an Ottoman Hajj fort of 1760 that guarded the crossing of a dangerous flood valley. This album follows the visit: the fort, its courtyard and well housing, the reservoir, and the Ottoman bridge and road of 1730–33.
