Ajloun Castle: An Ayyubid Fortress in Photos

On the summit of Jabal ‘Awf above the town of Ajloun, Ajloun Castle was begun in 1184–85 by one of Saladin’s emirs and enlarged in 1214–15. This album follows the visit: the bridge and gate, the towers among the pines, the vaulted halls, the upper courts and the castle museum.
