South-west of Azraq, Qasr Uweinid stands on the tip of a low basalt spur. A Latin inscription found near its entrance dates Roman building work here to about AD 200–203. This album follows the low walls of the fort, the spur and its wadi, the small separate tower about 300 m to the west, the stone-built circular enclosures nearby, and the open desert around.
