West Baths: A Quiet Corner of Ancient Jerash

SHARE

This 360-degree panorama captures the quieter, more rugged character of the West Baths at Jerash. From the open ground, low mounds, fallen blocks and thick stone walls reveal the footprint of a once-substantial Roman bath complex, while the surviving arched chamber at the centre provides a powerful glimpse of its vaulted interior architecture. Looking around, the view opens toward scattered columns, trees and the surrounding ruins, with the monumental North Tetrapylon visible close by. The contrast between the sun-baked landscape and the heavy, enclosed bath structures helps bring the site to life: this was once a carefully engineered place of water, heat, exercise and social gathering, now preserved as one of Jerash’s most atmospheric and less-visited corners.
