Tell El-Mazar

Tell El-Mazar is an important archaeological mound in northern Jordan, located in the fertile Jordan Valley near the Yarmouk River. The site preserves layers of human occupation that span several ancient periods, including the Bronze and Iron Ages, revealing evidence of fortified settlements, domestic structures, pottery workshops, and agricultural activity. Excavations at Tell El-Mazar have uncovered stone architecture, storage installations, and artefacts that reflect the region’s role as a crossroads of trade and culture between the Levant and surrounding civilisations. Surrounded by rolling farmland and scenic valley landscapes, the tell offers visitors a glimpse into thousands of years of continuous habitation and the deep historical heritage of northern Jordan.
