This 360-degree panorama takes you to the summit of Jabal al-Habis, above the centre of Petra, where the low walls of a small Crusader fort still outline its rooms and terraces. Rough stone courses run across the rocky ground in the foreground, and beyond them the hill drops away to the valley of the city centre.
Turn through the view to follow the walls along the edge of the summit, then look out over the Petra valley and the sandstone massifs that surround it. From here you can see why the Crusaders chose the hill: it overlooks the heart of the valley and every route into it. The fort is a short climb from Qasr al-Bint, by steps and a plank bridge.
