Vatican City  A remarkable exhibition highlighting the rich Christian heritage of Jordan took place at the Vatican Museums from January 31 to February 28, 2025. This special event offered visitors a unique opportunity to explore Jordan’s early Christian sites, ancient churches, and religious artefacts, reinforcing the country’s significance as a key part of biblical history.

A Journey Through Jordan’s Christian Legacy

The exhibition featured a curated collection of archaeological discoveries, historical manuscripts, and religious artefacts from Jordan, showcasing its role in early Christianity. Highlights included:

📜 Ancient Christian Manuscripts – Early texts and inscriptions from Jordan’s sacred sites.

🏛 Mosaics & Church Relics – Stunning artworks from Madaba, Umm ar-Rasas, and Mount Nebo.

🌊 Baptismal Site of Jesus (Bethany Beyond the Jordan) – A central focus on the site recognised as the place where Jesus was baptized, a UNESCO World Heritage location.

Strengthening Cultural and Religious Ties

Organised in collaboration with the Jordanian government, Vatican scholars, and heritage experts, the exhibition aims to strengthen cultural and interfaith dialogue, emphasising Jordan’s role as a land of coexistence and religious diversity.
