In January 2025, the Royal Tank Museum in Amman commemorated the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II by hosting a series of special events that attracted over 10,000 visitors.  The celebrations featured interactive activities, including demonstrations of tank crew operations inside a “Khalid” tank—the same model King Abdullah II served in during his military career. Children had the opportunity to wear military uniforms and participate in hands-on experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of Jordan’s military heritage.

The event also included creative workshops where visitors expressed their patriotism through art, as well as live performances by the Jordanian Armed Forces military band and the “Al Jeel Al Jadeed” Folklore Club, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

The museum, established by Royal Decree in 2007 and inaugurated on January 29, 2018, recently celebrated its sixth anniversary. To mark this milestone, the museum launched activities in collaboration with the Jordanian Centre for Design and Development (JODDB), including virtual reality tank driving exhibitions and interactive games for families.

The Royal Tank Museum continues to enhance its collection, which includes over 150 tanks and armoured vehicles displayed across 15 halls. Notably, in November 2019, the museum added a Japanese Type-61 tank to its exhibits, reflecting its commitment to showcasing diverse military artefacts.

The Royal Tank Museum is located in Amman, Jordan, and is open to visitors daily, except Tuesdays. For more information on current exhibitions, events, and visiting hours, please visit the official website.
