Amman - Madaba
Your experience begins with pickup from your hotel or residence in Amman, followed by a brief introduction and tour overview. If you wish, we can make a short stop at Starbucks so you can pick up your favourite coffee before leaving the city. Relax during the comfortable drive to Madaba (approximately 40 km / 1 hour) in a luxury vehicle equipped with Wi-Fi and phone chargers. Enjoy your coffee and selected snacks along the way, while complimentary bottled water and soft drinks are provided for your comfort.Ruins of Five Byzantine Churches
We begin our exploration at the remarkable Church of Saints Lot and Procopius, dating back to 557 AD. The church is renowned for its extensive mosaic floors, beautifully preserved and rich in detail. The central mosaic panels depict scenes of everyday life, including farming, fishing, and winemaking, framed by intricate ornamental borders. From here, we will explore nearby ruins within walking distance, including the Church of Saints Amos and Casiseos and the Church of Saint George, offering further insight into the region’s Byzantine heritage.Al Hakaya Museum
Next, we visit Al Hakaya Museum, an engaging cultural centre that brings Jordan’s rich history and heritage to life. Through immersive displays, you will explore the country’s role as a crossroads of civilisations from ancient times to the present day. The site also features a workshop and gallery showcasing local crafts, artwork, and Jordanian stones.Moses Spring
We continue to Moses Spring, a peaceful and symbolic site associated with the biblical story of Moses striking a rock to bring forth water. Here, you can explore a small cave with dripping water and a seasonal waterfall, especially picturesque during the winter months.Mount Nebo
Our next stop is the iconic Mount Nebo, one of the most significant biblical sites in Jordan. According to tradition, this is where Moses saw the Promised Land before his death. At the summit, you will visit the Moses Memorial Church, home to some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the region, as well as a small museum that explains the site’s history. From here, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and, on clear days, as far as Jerusalem.Panorama Dead Sea Complex
We then descend along a scenic mountain road, travelling from around 800 meters above sea level to over 400 meters below sea level—the lowest point on Earth. Our stop at the Dead Sea Panorama Complex offers spectacular views over the Dead Sea. Relax at the edge of the escarpment with a cup of coffee or tea while taking in one of Jordan’s most dramatic landscapes. The Baptism Site Of Jesus Christ
Upon arrival, you will join an organised guided tour of the site (approximately 1.5–2 hours) led by a licensed local guide. I will drop you off at the visitor centre and meet you again after the tour is completed. Please note that entrance fees are not included (currently 12 JOD per person, or 8 JOD with a valid Jordan Pass). The visit involves approximately 2 km of walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Set within a serene and natural landscape, the site preserves significant Roman and Byzantine remains, including churches, chapels, монаsteries, hermit caves, and ancient baptismal pools. Together, these elements reflect centuries of pilgrimage and religious devotion, making it one of the most spiritually important locations in the region.Return to Amman
After a memorable journey through history, culture, and breathtaking scenery, we will drive you back to Amman and drop you off at your hotel or preferred location. You will return with lasting memories of Madaba’s mosaics, Mount Nebo’s and Baptism Site's biblical significance, and the extraordinary beauty of the Dead Sea.
